We are seeing patients and resuming surgery (at a reduced capacity).
At Sea Change Weight Loss Clinic, we are committed to the safety of our patients and staff, and to ensuring minimal risk to them and the broader community. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and the latest advice from health authorities, and we will be updating this page as the situation develops.
We are conducting face-to-face consultations at our clinic and others via Telehealth. Our staff will inform you of our availability and will also request some brief screening information prior to your attendance at our clinic.
In accordance with recent announcements from the federal government, Sea Change is resuming category 2 and 3 elective surgery. This includes some general surgery and bariatric (i.e. weight loss) surgery, only at a reduced capacity.
This is an evolving situation with frequent and ongoing discussions between all major stakeholders, but we are advocating for our patients. We will continue to correspond with patients regarding dates for surgery with a view to scheduling bariatric procedures as early as possible.
We advise patients preparing for surgery and those who’ve recently undergone surgery to practise self-isolation as much as practicable and social distancing in line with the advice from authorities. Here are some resources recommended by our team to support you in this challenging time:
- Tips for Coping with Coronavirus Anxiety from the Australian Psychological Society
- Social Distancing Guidance from the Australian Government
- Maintaining Your Mental Health During Social Isolation from the Australian Psychological Society
We are still available at the clinic and contactable by phone. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Please take care.
