What is True Body Measurement (TBM) Scan?
TBM is a short scan performed on a DEXA scanner, which accurately measures the ratio of fat to muscle in your body
What will my TBM scan tell me?
- Fat distribution throughout the body including legs, trunk, abdomen and waist/hips.
- Proportion of your body that is fat v muscle v bone.
- Body Mass Index (BMI).
What can TBM be used for?
- BMI is a crude measure of body composition. A TBM scan will give you better information about your body composition pre-operatively and the ‘quality’ of weight loss post-operatively.
- Help to adjust post-operative exercise, dietary and supplement regimen based on post-operative body composition.
