Weight Loss Surgery Costs
There are no hidden fees at Sea Change.
Surgery & Post-Operative Care
For a primary procedure (i.e. not revisional surgery), our fee for both surgery and the below post-operative care is:
- $6,200 for sleeve gastrectomy surgery
- $6,500 for gastric bypass surgery.
This fee covers:
- Your surgeon performing the procedure
- All post-operative appointments as are necessary with your surgeon (usually 4-6 appointments) for 12 months post-surgery
- Ongoing tailored dietetic support from the Sea Change app (with access to dietetic reviews available if needed).
Note: Additional fees are charged by your anaesthetist, surgical assistant and hospital.
Consultations Before Surgery
- $285 for the initial consultation with your surgeon
- $150 for subsequent consultations with your surgeon
- $200 for the initial consultation with your dietitian (required pre-surgery)*
- $100 for any further pre-surgery consultations with your dietitian (if required).
Insurance for Weight Loss Surgery
We see and operate on insured and uninsured patients. If you have:
- Gold level private health insurance, you are generally covered for weight loss surgery
- Silver or Bronze level private health insurance, you might be covered for weight loss surgery. Contact us to find out more →
