Weight Loss Surgery Costs
There are no hidden fees at Sea Change.
Some clinics do not include post-surgery dietetic care – we always include 12 months of post-surgery dietetic care. You can also cover your surgical, psychology, dietetic and supplement costs using superannuation (find out more here).
Surgery & Post-Operative Care
For a primary procedure (i.e. not revisional surgery), our fee for both surgery and the below post-operative care is:
- $6,200 for sleeve gastrectomy surgery
- $6,500 for gastric bypass surgery.
This fee covers:
- Your surgeon performing the procedure
- All post-operative appointments as are necessary with your surgeon (usually 4-6 appointments) for 12 months post-surgery
- 12 months of post-operative care with your dietitian at Sea Change.
Note: Additional fees are charged by your anaesthetist, surgical assistant and hospital.
Consultations Before Surgery
- $285 for the initial consultation with your surgeon*
- $150 for subsequent consultations with your surgeon
- $150 for the initial consultation with your dietitian (required pre-surgery)*
- $100 for any further pre-surgery consultations with your dietitian (if required)
* Not applicable to eligible patients receiving complimentary consultation(s).
Insurance
We see and operate on insured and uninsured patients. If you are uninsured, you may be able to access your superannuation to fund your weight loss surgery. Click here to find out more →
